Here a tip, there a tip, everywhere a tip tip…

Advertise

Okay, a cheesy headline, I grant you.  But you’re curious. That makes going cheesy a tip, of sorts.

Actually, I’m writing this blog at the behest, and approval, of Bloggingtips.com Head Cheese (though not remotely cheesy) Kevin Muldoon, who is nothing if not a guy who takes good care of his bloggers.  He knows I have a new ebookjust out, and he’s offered me the use of the site to post this entry to help get the word out.

The ebook is called “ 101 Slightly Unpredictable Tips for Novelists and Screenwriters.”  And there’s not a trace of cheese in the entire 142 pages of it, I swear.  I like to think of it more as meat , actually.

But in all good conscience I can’t just leave it at that.  Blogging is all about delivering reader value, and this post should be no exception.  So if you’re wondering what the value is to you, a blogger who perhaps nurtures the dream or fully functioning side-job of writing novels and/or screenplays, allow me to present two realms of value here and now.

The first is what just happened.  Because it focuses on another tip, and an eternal one: always deliver value to the reader.  Always.  No matter what your agenda.  It’s not about you, the blogger, it’s about the reader.  We can’t reinforce that enough.  Consider youself reinforced.

There, I feel better already.

The other realm is the inherent value of the ebookitself.  The subtitle is “.”  Much of the content resides squarely in the wheelhouse of most bloggers, as well as novelists and screenwriters, because we face the same issues of inspiration, perspiration, tolerance, boredom, blockage, fear and the discipline of craftsmanship as they do.  Or we do, speaking from my other identity as a novelist and screenwriter who writes more blogs and ebooks lately than novels and screenplays.

So please check it out.  You can get it through my site, or directly from the landing page.

Thanks for your time.  And thanks to Kevin for giving us all a place to share our thoughts and our work.
